2.9 Month Braces by Charlotte dentist Dr. Payet

As much as people are often amazed at the idea that we can give them a straight smile with Six-Month Braces, there really are times when it doesn't even take THAT long.  Take a look at Karim's before and after pictures -- literally, we put her brackets on back on September 9th, and we took them off today, November 24th.  That's NOT EVEN 3 months with braces on, but look what a difference!  As she put it...."I love the results!"

2009 is Almost Over – Use Your Dental Benefits/Flex Plan $ or Lose Them!

USE IT OR LOSE IT! Your Dental Insurance, that is.  Did you know that, when your dental insurance year runs out, you LOSE whatever benefits you have left?  Unlike phone minutes, there’s no “roll-over” for your insurance, so once they’re gone, they’re GONE. We are rapidly approaching the end of 2009, and our schedule is already filling up for those last appointments of the year; if you don’t schedule now, you could easily miss out on the opportunity to use your benefits to help you get the dental treatment you need.  If you want to use Flex Plan dollars (‘cause you lose those, too, don’t forget!) or Dental Insurance that is still available, please call Liz at your first chance so you don’t miss out. END-OF-YEAR SPECIALS In addition to using your Dental Benefits, we are offering some really cool End-of-Year specials to help you out (hey, if you save some money and I get to stay busy, we BOTH benefit, right?) 1)      Get up to an ADDITIONAL $500 off our amazing Six-Month Braces! This has been incredibly popular, and patients tell us almost every day that they can’t believe how fast their teeth are straightening out.  Many are going to have the smiles straight and white by Thanksgiving or Christmas already.  Since we already have the coupon for $500 off, if you chose this option, you can save UP TO $1000!  If you’re doing 1 arch, you save $250 extra, but $500 off if you do both top and bottom teeth. 2) SAVE YOUR TEETH FROM GUM DISEASE AND $500 OFF! If you have gum disease and we’ve talked with you about LANAP, here’s the best way to go: We are scheduling blocks of [...]

Six-Month Braces: Case in Progress

People often have difficulty believing that we can really move teeth to create a more beautiful smile in only 6 months. Here's a case to show just how well it works - Lynn has only had her almost invisible braces on for 2 months, and look how far the gap between her front teeth has closed already!

Six Month Adult Braces in Charlotte is taking off!

Wow!  That's about all I can say at the moment with the response we are getting to our WBT radio ad and better positioning on the Internet for Google searches.  Here's a fun little thing: go to Google.com and do a search for "braces charlotte," and guess what - my website www.SmilesbyPayet.com is right there on the first page!  Yeehah!  LOL  And boy can we tell - the number of people calling us almost every day is amazing.  Some days I feel like I'm becoming an orthodontist! I figure it would be good to highlight a couple cases that we've recently started and follow them through so you can actually see the progress.  If you like what you see, Make an Appointment for a Free Consultation today! Mike's case Mike has been a patient for several years, but somehow we had never asked him if he was interested in straightening his teeth.  With our new Six-Month Smiles posters around the office, he decided to ask what it was about and if he was a good candidate.  Turns out, even though he has some pretty crooked top and bottom teeth, he really is a good candidate.  He was NOT interested in a full 2-3 year, comprehensive orthodontic plan - he just wants to feel good about his smile. Stephanie's case Stephanie found us through a Google search even before moving from the Midwest for a job transfer.  She'd been ready to start Six-Month Braces with a dentist there, but with the move she chose to wait until she got here, and we started her braces just a few days after Mike's.    Her braces should go a bit faster than Mikes, but that can be [...]

A new website with more info on Six-Month Braces for Adults in Charlotte, NC

I've been laboring to learn web design for about the last 6 months so that I could create my own sites to help spread the word on one of our patients' favorite procedures, and I've finally published my first website, which is very exciting!  It's been a lot of work, and there will be much more work to come in future months as I update it, add more Featured Cases, and expand the procedures that are covered.  For now, though, I hope you will all find it useful if you're looking for a Smile Makeover here in Charlotte  with Six-Month Braces.

Updates on Invisalign

ALIGN Technology, the company that makes Invisalign orthodontic aligners, has not yet made any indication that they will be reversing their decision on June 1st to require dentists and orthodontists to do a minimum of 10 cases each year and complete 10 hours of their Continuing Education courses each year.  The backlash among dentists and orthodontists, however, continues to get stronger, as this is a fairly blatant move by a for-profit corporation to intrude on a doctor's autonomy and decision-making rights as to which cases are appropriate for Invisalign and which are not.  Several professional organizations, including the Academy of General Dentistry and the New York State Dental Association, are already responding with letters to ALIGN Technology's Board of Directors and President, stating that there is simply no evidence that the so-called "proficiency requirements" have any basis in science, and unless they can come up with something to substantiate the claims the company is making, they should immediately withdraw the requirements.  If ALIGN Technology continues on this course, patients should fully expect to see an enormous drop in the availability of Invisalign as more and more dentists and orthodontists simply drop their service. The good news is that there are alternatives to Invisalign, and they work as well or better, AND they're even less expensive! [...]

6MonthSmiles now available in our office!

Following on the dumb move made by Invisalign a couple weeks ago to severely restrict the number of dentists and orthodontists who will be able to offer Invisalign to their patients (see my most recent post), it has been interesting to note that ALIGN Technology's stock value has dropped by almost 18% in just the last 2 weeks since they made their announcement. Boy am I glad that I found out before attending their course and wasting my money and time. However, this has led me to FINALLY get involved with a different company, whose founder - Dr. Ryan Swain - I have been proud to call a friend for about 7 years now. Dr. Swain started a ground-breaking niche practice in New York that focused exclusively on Six-Month Braces and Cosmetic Dentistry. His practice model has been so explosively successful that he's been teaching dentists all over the country how to use the techniques that he teaches, which create dramatic Smile Makeovers, often in 6 months or even less, for adults wanting straight front teeth but wanting their braces to be "invisible." With Invisalign no longer a company I want to partner with, it seemed to finally be the right time to partner with Dr. Swain and 6MonthSmiles.com. [...]

Invisalign "proficiency requirements" or just a QUOTA?

It has been an interesting couple of weeks when it comes to Six-Month Braces and Short-Term Ortho in general in our office...... We had planned to attend InvisAlign certification in Raleigh on June 12th so we could start offering this service to our patients. Personally, I'm not that big a fan of those clear aligners at all, because they cost more (we have to pay a hefty lab fee, which is why your fee is higher than for brackets), they don't work in as many cases (quite a few limitations), and they take longer - ESPECIALLY if you lose 1 or more aligners and have to get some remade. However, so many people are interested, we figured.....why not? We can offer it for the situations in which it is a good option and offer the "invisible brackets" for everyone else. BUT THEN.... On June 1st, Align Technologies (the company that actually runs the operation) sent an email to all of it's providers in conjunction with a Press Release to the public with some major news. Since we had just signed up, we weren't even on the list of people who received the emails, so fortunately I found out about this through an online forum for dentists, and oooooooh boy, looks like they stepped in it this time! Here is the link to the Press Release: InvisAlign Makes a Huge Mistake in Doctor Relations! (BTW - that's not what they call it, it's just what most of us dentists think) Simply put, by the end of this year, an enormous percentage of dentists will allegedly no longer be "qualified" to offer InvisAlign to their patients simply because they don't do 10 cases per year. Heck, even [...]

Dental Implant Bridge Smile Makeover in Charlotte

Some Smile Makeovers are easy, but some are complicated and require combining several techniques to get the best result.  The following is an example of one that used 3 different procedures in our Charlotte dentist office: A bridge on 2 dental implants Six Month Braces NTI nightguard for migraine relief Cosmetic Dentistry with Dental Implants When Kat first came to us in August 2006, she was ready to improve her smile, and she had some major complicating factors.  She knew about the significant gum recession, was unhappy about the dark metal lines around her dental bridge, and wanted to brighten/straighten her whole smile. But beyond that, she had some more problems: Crowded lower front teeth that were banging against the back of the upper dental bridge She clenched her teeth intensely, pushing the lower front teeth powerfully against the back of the upper dental bridge A history of chronic migraines that did not respond to conventional treatment, and as she'll tell you in a heartbeat, she tried EVERYTHING. The 2 teeth holding up the bridge had cracks in the roots A very high smile line, meaning that - when she smiles big - her lip rises way up high so that even the gums show (most people don't do this) Two Dental Implants for a Bridge We spent quite a while talking about how all these things fit together and all the possibilities to give her a beautiful smile she would love.  We finally decided on the following: [...]
